A little background story first to set you in the mood. Our dog Riley, should probably have been named Houdini, as he must be the best dog escape artist I have ever seen. It doesn't matter what we get him he always finds a way to get free. We used a chain link collar attached to a tree for a while and in some way he managed to get the collar off his neck and just roamed freely. That ended up with all our tulips being dug up and eaten.
So we got our first dog kennel
At first, we thought it was the best idea we've ever had but after a while we found him digging his way out of there and roaming the yard free, once again.
So what do we do, do we just give up or do we fight on to beat him another day?
This isn't Rileys first rodeo and he has been like this since he was a pup. He opens doors with ease and is the nicest dog there is. But this is for his own sake, we are afraid that he might leave our yard and there is a road going just a few meters outside. Therefore we started looking at better dog kennels that might hold him in place for once and found a great source where they've had tested exactly the right thing for us.
Now Riley is happy and the family is more than happy with his new compound that is both secure and has a flooring, rooftop a little dog house. His own private space in our backyard that is. We now feel comfortable enought to leave him unattended, as you should be able to do with your dog if he is in an enclosure. But I don't think Riley's given up, he is just working on a new master escape plan. Our own little Michael Scofield.
